To My Friends,
I hope that you hear the inclusiveness in this CD, not only in the variety of love and life, but also in the variety of voices. Moms singing to their kids on their wedding day, a pastor singing to confirmands and friends, a church singing to welcome a new infant, a lady’s trio singing words of LIFE!, my daughter and her husband singing the song she sang when confirmed years ago.....age, gender, class and sexuality, notwithstanding. Yes, there are three people who sing professionally, Johnnie, Kelly and Vincent. But, it is fitting that, after such a weaving variety, the CD will end with the children’s voices of Hadwen Park Church with the adults JUST BEHIND them in full support of a NEW way of loving and spreading the Light!
I hope that you laugh, with me, at being “Single at Christmas, “ and get just a bit teary eyed at the baptism song. I pray that you find challenge and tenderness even, and especially, in the melancholy. Worship and life, when ENGAGED in all its glorious color, is dazzling! A rainbow full of colors. So, please, “Come to the Party!” ....and dance with amazing grace.
