By Rev. Dennis Moon The Story: This was one of Daniel's favorite songs. He sang it many times accompanied by Denny's guitar exactly as heard on the CD. Denny wrote this nearly twenty years ago while with the kids at Bible camp. While recording the CD in August of 1999, as a last minute inspiration, we gathered some of the children of Daniel's friends from his teenage years and they sang the first verse. The voices of the parents of these children and the older friends of Daniel surround and support the younger voices as the other verses are completed. A metaphor for the support of the church of Jesus Christ to Daniel when he was young. It was a riveting and grace-filled moment. The Song: Kids . Are you one of those people who don't need nobody else Are you one of those people who can do it by yourself Are you self-sufficient, your own special kind of breed Or are you strong enough to say I've got needs. Chorus...everyone joins to sing the chorus I got all I need you say, that's a lie and it ain't true Think of all you need today You need me and I need you Older folks and friends... Do you carry with you the burden of your need So afraid to share it afraid that you'll be seen As less than perfect you're just like everybody else The perfection that you claim is not yourself We are all one people, the children of one God Who is there to help us though you may think it's odd That He's in your brother, She's in your sister too Just take a long hard look inside of you.
